2014 Silverado Gets Lean and Mean for Corry-area Drivers

Lighter, high-strength materials help improve capability, safety and efficiency

 

Like athletes who burn fat and build muscle to become more competitive, the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 strategically replaced traditional steel with lightweight, high-strength steel for improved capability, safety and fuel efficiency.

High-strength and ultra-high-strength steels make the Silverado’s fully boxed frame and cab lighter and stronger, helping the truck deliver the best fuel economy of any V-8 pickup, up to 23 mpg highway for Corry, Warren, Erie and Jamestown-area drivers. It also has class-leading towing capability of up to 12,000 pounds when equipped with the available 6.2L V-8.

Chevrolet and Crotty Chevrolet Buick, recently announced additional vehicles with Chevrolet MyLink will be available with Siri, Apple’s intelligent assistant that helps get things done just by asking. Siri Eyes Free Integration will be available, for Corry, Warren and Erie area drivers, on the 2014 Camaro, Cruze, Equinox, Malibu, SS and Volt.

Dealership and Corry area residents mobilize to help fight breast cancer this October

Crotty Chevrolet Buick, Chevrolet and Corry-area customers will unite for the third consecutive year in the fight against breast cancer. Together with the American Cancer Society, Chevrolet provides nationwide grassroots support of the Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® walks and other activities.

“Crotty Chevrolet Buick is committed to helping find a cure for breast cancer,” said Robert Crotty of Crotty Chevrolet Buick. “That’s why we’re helping to make strides against breast cancer, hoping we can help in finding a cure for breast cancer.”

Last year, with the support of Chevrolet, Crotty Chevrolet Buick and dealerships across the country, the American Cancer Society raised $1,211,463 in contributions through the Making Strides walks. This money helps fund research, wellness, breast cancer awareness education and support for breast cancer patients and their families.

At the Dealership Crotty Chevrolet has created a “Wall of Hope”. For a donation, a breast cancer symbol is placed on our wall with the name of a loved one or your own name showing support of Making Strides against Breast Cancer.

Corry-area customers can also join Chevrolet in the fight against breast cancer just by taking a test drive at Crotty Chevrolet. A $10 contribution per test drive up to $130,000 will be made to the American Cancer Society for every eligible test drives taken nationally on select dates at participating dealerships. Drivers must be over 21 with a valid driver’s license. The promotion is limited to one test drive per person.

Additionally, a Chevrolet Certified Service matching rebate promotion on select services encourages Corry-area to contribute their service rebate to the American Cancer Society from October 1 through November 30, with Chevrolet matching contributions dollar for dollar up to $60,000.

Chevrolet will also donate $200 for every lap run under caution during select NASCAR Sprint Cup and IZOD IndyCar Series races throughout October. In addition to the donation, a special themed pink Chevrolet Camaro SS will pace select NASCAR Sprint Cup series races. A special 2014 Corvette Stingray will serve as the pace car for the IZOD IndyCar Series event at Auto Club Speedway in October.

Chevrolet’s and Buick’s Unlocks RemoteLink for Microsoft Windows Phones

Becomes only OEM to offer remote services across all four smartphone platforms for Corry residents

When the OnStar RemoteLink Mobile App launched, it was the first app from an automaker to offer Corry, Erie, Warren and Jamestown, NY-area drivers remote access to their vehicle. Now RemoteLink can claim the distinction of being the first remote telemetry app from an automaker to work on all four primary smartphone platforms – iPhone, Android, Blackberry and now Microsoft Windows phones.

OnStar has expanded the availability of RemoteLink so that GM drivers with select Microsoft Windows phones can start experiencing remote vehicle connectivity. The app is available on both Windows Phone 7 and 8 operating systems, and will be accessible in the Windows Phone Store on mobile devices. 

“The RemoteLink app has been available for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry smartphones for a while now,” said Robert Crotty, VP of Crotty Chevrolet Buick. “But OnStar heard from many subscribers asking for a Windows app.” 

Today, the RemoteLink Mobile App, which is available for nearly all of Crotty Chevrolet Buick’s GM models, has been downloaded more than 1.7 million times. The most common use of the app is checking vehicle data such as oil life, tire pressure and fuel level. These requests get made nearly 600,000 times every month.

RemoteLink for Windows, like the Blackberry version, was written using HTML5 technology. HTML5 is a language for structuring and writing content for the web that is gaining momentum in the mobile app space. 

The app will be available for Corry, Erie, Warren and Jamestown, NY-area OnStar subscribers and will support four language options, including English and Spanish. 

This expansion comes on the heels of the announcement that RemoteLink’s key-fob based features – remote start, lock, unlock and horn and lights activation – would be standard for five years on all new GM vehicles. This launch means that Corry, Erie, Warrne and Jamestown, NY-area GM drivers with select Windows phones will be able to access RemoteLink key-fob features as well. The five years of standard remote key-fob services does not include access to additional OnStar services.

RemoteLink connects to a driver’s vehicle in a secure fashion, requiring a username and password to log in and a four digit PIN to make a remote vehicle command.

OnStar subscribers can download the application and visit onstar.com to enable remote commands.

Chevrolet and Buick Models Get Two Years of Included Maintenance at Crotty Chevrolet Buick

New coverage included for all lessees and purchasers of 2014 model year vehicles

Every 2014 Chevrolet and Buick model offered by Crotty Chevrolet Buick will be covered by a new maintenance program that includes certain scheduled maintenance services for two years or 24,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

For most 2014 vehicles, Crotty Chevrolet Buick will complete an oil and filter change, four-wheel tire rotation, and conduct a 27-point vehicle inspection for owners under this program in accordance with their vehicle Owner’s Manual maintenance schedule and oil life monitoring system.

Some alternative-fuel vehicles do not include oil changes, and some performance vehicles and certain trucks do not include tire rotations when that service is not recommended. The program covers up to four service visits in the 24-month period, and is fully transferrable to subsequent owners.
